The Hunter Valley Falcon GT Club was formed on 23 February 1984, after a decision was made in late 1983 to seek interested owners. The inaugural President was Rick White.
Some of those original club members, and/or their families are still in the club today, with the McPhee and Simpson families having 3rd generations getting a seat in the grandparents GT on occassions.
While some members have passed on, others passed their cars on to enthusiasts throughout the country. Despite this, the HVFGTCC retains a strong membership with nearly the complete Falcon GT history represented in club members cars.
Like many special interest clubs, as the club grew, members saw the ability of the region to support two Falcon GT clubs. In 2001 several members formed the Newcastle Falcon GT Club.
With members from Denman, Singleton, Maitland, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Bathurst regions, our club has a strong social and family base. The Hunter Valley Falcon GT Car Club welcomes members and families with cars representative of the Falcon from 1967 onwards, despite the engine or model. We embrace the modern FPV GT and all members are encouraged to organise and co-ordinate runs and activities resulting in a diverse range of club events.
Some of our members support the annual Valla combined club run, the GT Nationals, the annual Lester Cox Memorial trips with Inverell GT Club, and social invitations from other GT and car clubs.
Our steady growth and good run attendances indicate that we are part of the ‘going thing’.
